Student v. Andover Public Schools (BSEA # 12-0430)

Attorney Sankey represented the family of a fourteen-year-old resident of Andover, Massachusetts, who was diagnosed with a language-based learning disability. The Student was enrolled in the Andover Public Schools, but due to the inadequacy of the proposed services, was seeking an order of placement at the Landmark School in addition to compensatory reading and speech and language services. Working on behalf of the student and her mother, Attorney Sankey prevailed at hearing and the Hearing Officer ordered that the school district place the student at Landmark School and provide the requested compensatory services.
